We were lucky to have some very special guests, the Horner family, right here at our headquarters! Here at Horner, we have embraced our rich history and were extremely honored to be able to accommodate the Horner family. In 1891, William Horner became the very first manufacturer of maple hardwood flooring and we were so happy to have his descendants with us here in Dollar Bay!
The Michigan Tech School of Forestry and Wood Products has recently expanded the U. J. Noblet Building with the addition of Sam Horner Hall. Sam Horner, son of William Horner, built the nation’s largest hardwood flooring mill in Newberry, Michigan. Later on, in 1938, the Horner Flooring Company mill was
built in Dollar Bay, Michigan where it remains today.
We are proud to carry the Horner family name
with the same values and ethics since 1891.
